Simphony Architecture

Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)

Simphony operates using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), which is a set of loosely connected services. Instead of standalone applications, all parts of Simphony are services that can be placed anywhere within the organisation, restricted only by network setup.

This architecture of Simphony results in a system that is more scalable and reliable compared to traditional server-based models. This is because services are spread out and don’t have to rely on a single machine. For instance, if web services run on application servers and these servers can connect with the database, the workstations can operate in online mode.

Simphony’s Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), employs industry-standard SOAP services, enhancing compatibility with third-party applications. The SOA governs how workstations interact with other applications or devices. Interfaces are transformed into services that can be operated centrally or locally.
