Installation of Update Package

  1. Download and Save the Self Extracting file MICROS_VAT_Update_2018.exe file from the Micros SA Website to your Desktop
  2. Double Click the MICROS_VAT_Upadate_2018.exe file.
  3. You may be prompted with a screen from the User Account Control – Click Yes if prompted:

  1. A Black screen will Open and run then Close.
  2. Close the Folder and Delete the MICROS_VAT_Upadate_2018.exe file.

Implementing the VAT Increase on the 1st of April 2018

Note!!! This needs to be done before you start trade on the 1st of April 2018

  1. Double Click Micros Autosequence and Reports:
  2. Run you standard End Of Day Procedure
  3. Once End of Day has Completed, Find the Autosequence:    .
  4. Please note that it may be on the next page of Autosequences – click on the next button highlighted below.

  1. If you do not see the Icon then please contact the Support desk on 0861 642 767 urgently.
  2. Click on the Autosequence: 
  3. Make sure that the Autosequence Completes – it must say “Done” as per the image below.

If it does not say done then please contact our support desk on 0861 642 767.

The VAT Rate has now updated to 15%.

Report changes

VERY IMPORTANT – In conjunction with the VAT change, the following reports will be affected and report differently. A sample of a Menu Item for R11.40 with VAT at 14% has been used in the current and post 1st April 2018 tables below for ease of reference.

 

System Sales Report

The system sales report will have 2 changes, the current order type section posts gross sales as well as gross values for the respective tracking groups. The new configuration will post the same information excluding VAT. Revenue tracking remains unchanged.

System Sales Summary Report

The system sales summary report will have 1 change, the current report displays gross. The new configuration will post the same information excluding VAT

Discount Report

Discounts on discount reports display discounts including VAT, the change will see discounts post excluding VAT

Void Report

Voids on void reports only, will display voids including VAT, the change will see voids post excluding VAT. Void values on the sales reports remain unchanged.

Tax Report

The tax collected column will populate correctly with the change.

Time Period Report

Time Period Reports will display values excluding VAT (Net)

Employee Sales Report

The employee sales report will have 2 changes, the current order type section posts gross sales as well as gross values for the respective tracking groups. The new configuration will post the same information excluding VAT (Net). Revenue tracking remains unchanged.

Employee Cashup Sales Report

The Employee Cashup Report will post order type values excluding VAT (Net). Revenue tracking remains unchanged.

Major Group, Family Group, Menu Item Group and Menu Item Sales Reports

Current values on the Major Group, Family Group, Menu Item Group and Menu Item Sales Reports post including VAT and will post excluding VAT (Net) post 1st April 2018

Product Management Reports

Product Management Reports will not be affected.
